Detailed notations on the charts have not been transcribed. The 14th Article of the General Orders received by William Henry stated: "You are to make Charts of the parts of the Coast, and Draughts of such of the Harbours within the limits of your station as have not already been surveyed; noting the Depth of Water, conveniency for Fishing and whatever observations occur worthy of remark which you are to deliver to me together with a Journal of your Proceedings when you join me." (St. John's, Provincial Reference Library). Copies may, therefore, have been made of the charts in the log and a general journal of William Henry's proceedings kept for Governor Elliot.
