A bronze medal commemorating the lives of Louis III of France and his brother Carloman II who ruled jointly as Kings of West Francia until Louis' death in 882. It was upon the death of their father, Louis the Stammerer, that the brothers decided to divide the kingdom and rule together, marking their reign with numerous military victories.

The obverse side of the medal displays a bust of the two brothers by Armand Caqué.

The reverse side of the medal is engraved with a short history of the brothers' joint rule.
