A bronze medal commemorating the life of Philip VI (of Valois), King of France from 1328 until his death in 1350. He was reigning monarch when France entered the Hundred Years' War with England.

The obverse side of the medal displays a bust of Philip VI by Armand Caqué.

The reverse side of the medal is engraved with a short history of Philip VI.
