Modern print made by the photographer from the original negative, 7-28-6, cropped
Harrington found the Padleimuit in a starving condition because the annual caribou migration had failed. His photographs were published and helped refocus the
federal government's efforts at resettlement of the Inuit into communities. 1950
Title of the photograph in square brackets is based on information provided by Project Naming. This project brings Youth and Elders in Nunavut to work together to identify and record the names of people in photographs held at the Library and Archives Canada.
