Parsons, Reuben T, 1879-1968 : Reuben T. Parsons was born at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, on January 1st 1879. His parents were Susannah Taylor Pike and Edward Parsons, a cabinet maker, general director and photographer. On July 31st, 1906, he married Gertrude Churchill of St. John's.

Reuben T. Parsons worked out of Harbour Grace as a professional photographer from 1892 until his retirement in 1960, carrying on a family business established in 1860 and maintained until 1975. In the 1930's Parsons represented Associated Press and International News Photos for coverage of historic transatlantic air flights from Newfoundand; his photos appearing in interantional newspapers. Parsons also recorded in detail the urban and coastal environment, industry, lifestyles and activities in Harbour Grace when that town was second only to st. John's in size and importance in Newfoundland. Parsons passed away in Harbour Grace on October 4th, 1968.
