This series consists of Edgar Collard's files for his "Gazette" columns on the history of Montreal titled "All Our Yesterdays" and, later, "Of Many Things". The files are arranged alphabetically by subject matter, primarily the people, places, buildings, and historical events which made up the character and the life of the city of Montreal. Some frequent themes or subjects included prominent personalities, McGill University, hospitals, churches, banks, parks, sporting events, fires, and floods, but the subjects could also be more obscure, ranging from lamplighters to sleighs or French Canadian weightlifters.

This series overlaps considerably with the Subject Files and Research and Reference Material series.
