Sub-series consists of technical drawings related to Ships' books. RG24M 84503/38 consists of plans, dated 1917-1976, predominant 1939-1955, that had been identified by the Dept. of National Defence as useful for model making purposes, hence the term "model makers collection". Included in this collection are plans for the RCMP vessel St. Roch, 1942-1944. RG24M 923006 consists of drawings of Royal Canadian Navy auxiliary vessels, dated 1942-1979. Auxiliary vessels include minesweepers of the Bay class (Chaleur, Thunder, Cowichan, Fundy, Chignecto and Miramichi), Gate class vessels (Porte de la Reine, Porte Quebec and Porte Dauphin), Crash boats (Black Duck, Flamingo and Heron) and assorted others including diving vessels, scows, tugs, lighter cranes, motor boats, a sounding boat, a tanker, an oil barge, a Ranger launch, and a water boat. The accession also includes the vessels "Blue Throat", "Admirals Pinnace", "Ehkoli" and "Songhee".

RG24M 84503/38 was transferred in Sept. 1983 from the Directorate of Publishing and Graphic Services, formerly the Directorate of Documentation & Drawing Services, of the Dept. of National Defence. RG24M 923006 was transferred from the Directorate of Auxiliary Vessels through the Senior Research Officer at the Directorate of History.
