It illustrates the policies, concerns, programs and actions of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce during the first 10 years of the government of the Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
It consists mainly of correspondence.
It is divided into four (4) sub-series: Correspondence Inherited from Previous Ministers; General Correspondence; Constituency Correspondence; and Federal-Provincial Conference of First Ministers.Additional information:Conservation:The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.Language note:The record of the series are in french and english.Related material:The Minister of Industry, Trade and Commerce series, Constituency Correspondence sub-series contains Jean Chrétien's constituency correspondence from the period when he was Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs and President of the Treasury Board.Source:Private -
