The series consists of material created and accumulated by Yalden during his career relating to language and human rights and Canada's official languages. The files are arranged in alphabetical order by title and in chronological order within.

The series contains files entitled "Language rights and human rights" 1976-1974, 1989 and 2005 and includes correspondence with Canadian government officials and officials of other countries, Canadian institutions and newspaper editors; a preliminary draft of an essay entitled "Legislating Morality, An Essay On Language Rights And Human Rights" by Yalden; and a transcript of an interview with La Presse.

Series also contains files entitled "Official languages" 1969-1996 and includes correspondence with ministers and other governments officials (Federal and Provincial and from other countries) and Canadian institutions and newspaper editors.
