Fonds consists of sound recordings documenting interviews with Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin. Also included are edited manuscripts of Jean Chétien's 1985 memoir "Straight From the Heart", and complete and partial transcripts of the interviews.

Fonds also consists of research files on Jean Chrétien and politics in the 1980's -1990's, transcripts of the interviews and the drafts and proofs of Jean Chrétien's memoir "My Years as Prime Minister".

Graham, Ron, 1948- : Ron Graham, political writer and journalist, was born in Ottawa on 18 February, 1948, and raised in Montréal. He attended McGill University, Montréal, graduating with a B.A. in 1968. Thereafter, he attended Carleton University, Ottawa, graduating in 1971 with an M.A. from the Institute of Canadian Studies. Between 1975 and 1976 Graham served as lecturer of Canadian history and Quebec politics at Vanier College in Montréal. In 1977 he joined the CBC as researcher, off-camera interviewer and associate producer for the documentary series The Canadian Establishment. In 1982 he joined Saturday Night magazine, working as a regular contributor and associate editor until 1988. Graham ghostwrote and edited Jean Chrétien's 1985 memoir Straight From the Heart, and served as English -language interviewer for the television memoirs of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Graham has also written One-Eyed Kings (1986), God's Dominion (1990), The French Quarter (1992), All the King's Horses (1995) and A Memoir of F. Ronald Graham (2001). Between 1996 and 1997 Graham took the position as president of PEN Canada, thereafter serving as Maclean Hunter Chair of Communications Ethics at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. In 1998 he edited The Essential Trudeau, by Pierre Elliott Trudeau, and Behind the Embassy Door, by Governor James Blanchard, the former U.S. Ambassador to Canada. Graham was invited to be Official Visitor of the Invitation Program for Journalists with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000. In 2006 he became the new Chair of the Royal Ontario Museum's (ROM) Institute for Canadian Culture (ICC).
