This sub-series documents the activities, practices and standards governing the Correspondence Unit of the Office of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. To a lesser degree, it concerns the agenda and achievements of the Liberal Party of Canada when it formed the Official Opposition in the House of Commons (1990-1993) and during the first months of the Chrétien government (1993-1994).

The sub-series contains records relating to correspondence management procedures (i.e. correspondence templates, etc.); correspondence sent - and received - by Correspondence Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister staff; documents on the hiring of Unit staff; numerous surveys and statistical reports; and reference material and various working papers, particularly on the management of the Prime Minister's Web site.
