The series contains files related to his biographical information, to his family and to Bryce's ancestries. There is a voluminous correspondence received from his father Robert Alexander Bryce and his mother Edna Bryce dated from 1932 to 1963. The correspondence of his father is particularly significant because it covers his entire career. Robert Alexander Bryce was a mining engineer, president of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and was involved in the gold mining industry for a long period of time. He pressed his eldest son to perform well in school and gave his point of view on all of his work in school and also during his professional activities (see Granatstein, pages 256-257). Also, there is a manuscript in vol. 24 file 2 of a biography of Robert Alexander Bryce written by David Burley which was never published.
