The series consists of editorial files for volume II, which covered the period from 1840 to 1918, and was edited by Yvan Lamonde, Patricia Fleming, and Fiona A. Black. This series includes comprehensive working documents and correspondence from all three editors, ranging from comments on first drafts through to final texts and translations, as well as correspondence with authors and work on apparatus such as preliminary materials, bibliography and index. Work of the English text editor, Elizabeth Hulse, and French text editor, Yzabelle Martineau, is also included. More specifically, the series holds author files (vols. 25-36), English manuscripts and proofs (vols. 37-40), apparatus files (vol. 40), and images (vol. 41). Researchers should also consult Patricia Fleming's series in this sous-fonds, and the McGill University site sous-fonds for additional records on Volume II, particularly relating to the formulation of tables of contents and other general editorial matters, and to the French edition of Volume II. Sample editorial files are also found in the Dalhousie University site sous-fonds.
