This series documents the activities of the Tour Office of the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien when he was Prime Minister of Canada, a position he held from November 1993 to December 2003. It concerns official tours, travel and visits (diplomatic, economic or political in nature) by the Prime Minister and his entourage. To a lesser degree, it also concerns visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries. The series contains correspondence, briefing books, mission logs, timetables and itineraries.

The series is divided into two (2) sub-series: Tours, Visits and Events; and Tour Office Personnel.

Conservation:

The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.

The records of this series are in French and English.

The three series are complementary, containing records of the Prime Minister's travels in Canada and abroad as well as visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries.
