In addition to their administrative and logistical aspects, these documents offer an original overview of concerns and priorities justifying the travel (authorized by Prime Minister Chrétien's Chief of Staff) of Canadian ministers and secretaries of state between 1997 and 2003. This foreign travel also helps to shed light on Canada's international relations and its representation and influence on the world scene, especially within various international bodies.

This sub-sub-series contains correspondence, memos, briefing notes and forms.

A number of original items are signed by Canadian politicians (men and women).

The original order of the 352 files comprising this sub-sub-series has been preserved.

It contains general files in chronological order (from 1994 to 1996-1997) followed by, in alphabetical order, personal files opened on behalf of ministers and secretaries of state. Where applicable, each is followed by a file opened on behalf of the executive assistant. This is repeated for the years 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2001 and 2002-2003.
