Sub-series consists of files kept by Robinson during his writing of This Family Robinson. The series includes research conducted by Robinson in Cornwall and at Oxford University; files concerning the publication process, the published book, and correspondence concerning the published book.

Also included are two decades of correspondence to Basil O. Robinson (Robinson's father), who lived in Vancouver, from his godmother, Mary Orger, who lived in Oxford. The file from 1921 also includes letters from Basil Oswin to her. There is also a diary kept by Mary Orger during a trip she took to France in 1930, and in it are 17 postcards from the time.

There is also correspondence between H. Basil Robinson and members of the extended Robinson family, mostly written while he was researching the book, and documentation he gathered about his relatives. There is a photocopy of a diary of Mavis Sills, a cousin, who in 1921 left England with her infant daughter to join her husband in Canada to settle near Endako, in the central interior of British Columbia. The diary had been recopied by Mavis, with some personal information left out, but it provides a vivid picture of an immigrant couple with a young child, building and then living in a log cabin in very harsh conditions.

The series also includes photographs of Robinson, his parents, grandparents, and other relatives. There are hand-tinted photographs of Robinson's mother Nancy and of his aunt Iris. Iris would later marry actor Middleton Woods, and the series contains photographs of and clippings about him. There is a still of Woods, Carey Grant and Ingrid Bergman from the 1959 film Indiscreet, a photo of Woods in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore, and a short musical score, composed by Woods, in the style of Gilbert and Sullivan.
