General note:

Arthur Wallace was born in 1903 and received his university training at McGill from 1922-1926. After graduation, until 1930, he worked for various architectural firms in New York City. From 1930-33 he photographed and measured heritage buildings in Nova Scotia and in 1923 set up his own practise in Halifax. In 1935 he left for England where he worked for a number of firms and during the war was chief architect, Directorate of Fortifications and Works, British 8th army in North Africa. In 1946 he set up practice with Lester Husband in Hamilton where he worked until his death in 1978.

This accession was acquired from Ken Wallace through the Documentary Art and Photography Section in March 1989.
