The document has five seals. One red wax seal is uncovered while four other seals are covered with paper. Four doodem (clan, also known by the anglicized term totem) signatures accompany the seals. A map, located in the top right corner is included in the text of provisional agreement. The pink outline shows the land to be surrendered. The blue colour is for lake Ontario. The rest is drawn in black ink. Attachment of correspondence, dated 18 June 1806, Wm. Stanton, Chief Clerk, President's Office, York to John Small, Esq. re: filing of "the original Provisional agreement for the Lands to be purchased from the Messessague Indians at the Head of Lake Ontario".

The document is laminated with tissue. The second sheet, also tissue laminated, is attached to a larger sheet, probably with glue. A large piece is missing on top left edge. The document is dirty and small pieces are missing where it was previously rolled.
