This sub-sub-series documents visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries, and the consequent organization of Prime Minister Chrétien's agenda by his Executive Assistant. The files contain correspondence, itineraries, agendas, timetables, visit agendas, menus, briefing documents for the Prime Minister (talking points, questions and answers, etc.), news releases, rough drafts, speaking notes, speeches, and various working documents (lists, scenarios, handwritten notes, etc.).

In particular, the files of this sub-sub-series concern visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries (i.e. monarchs, presidents, prime ministers, cabinet ministers, secretaries of state, church dignitaries, representatives of international bodies, etc. They offer insight into Canada's diplomatic relations with other countries, documenting not only diplomatic visits but the reasons behind them. Economic cooperation, social development, trade expansion, industrial growth and international security are just some of the issues involved in visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries. These documents also shed light on the difficult aspects of managing the Prime Minister's agenda during official visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries.
