On arrival in 2010, works now designated items 1, 4-6, 8-11 and 14 in volume 22 were found loose in the 1838 album, while items 2-3, 7, 12-13 and 15-18 were found in a folder ascribed to Coke Smyth. The watercolors now designated items 1 and 2 in volume 23 had been removed from the 1838 album for the 2003 exhibition. The work now item 4 in volume 23 had been framed an hung at Broomhall. Evidence demonstrates that the works now designated items 19, 20, 22 and 24-28 in volume 22 and 3 in volume 23 are astray from the 1847-1852 album - several having been removed for the 2003 exhibition.
