The maps are: 1) Upper Canada, in counties and ridings as at present divided -- 2) Lower Canada, in counties as previous to Act of 1829 - Lower Canada, as divided by Act of 1829. John Arrowsmith -- 3) Canada, divided into counties and ridings, as per Union bill. John Arrowsmith. Compare Bouchette maps of Lower Canada, 1829, Upper and Lower Canada 1831. "John Arrowsmith" appears on only two of the maps and is neither a signature nor an imprint. The maps are presumably of Upper and Lower Canadian origin and all three appear to have been copied by the same individual. A possible clue to his identity is that he calls Georgian Bay a gulf and Lake Nipissing "Nipissing L."
