A revised edition of a map first published in 1722 by De l'Isle. Rivers, lakes, Indian villages and many other features are shown. The fictional Sea of the West is also shown. Notes on explorations, fishing and other subjects adorn the map. An "avertissement" discusses the problems of general scales and longtitude and latitude. This edition of the map probably appeared in Covens and Mortier's: Atlas Nouveau..., published circa 1757. (21 editions of this map were published between 1722 and 1830).
