This map distinguishes the following types of stations: Northwest Territories stations, civil government air operations stations. Royal Canadian Air Force stations, short wave stations, non-permanent active milita training stations, Parks Branch stations, and Royal Canadian Corps of Signals meteorological reporting stations. The locations, wave lengths, and call letters of the first three types of stations are given below the map. The manuscript features on the map consist of circles which resemble reception contours, although few of them encircle a marked radio station.
