Album 9 is 1 of 11 bound albums which include Victorian scapbooks, and catalogues and order books for greeting cards, and donor's presentation albums. This album is part of a collection which also includes loose items, artifacts and general ephemera with photographic and philatelic elements.

This album of 37 folios and 140 items has been assembled by Kenneth Rowe, as a presntation album, which the creator has named: Canadian Christmas Cards 1860-1945, Album 1. Album comprises Christmas cards and related material such as trademarks, bookplates, advertisements, letter-head pages, envelopes, and carte-de-visites. The album with Ex Libris for Kenneth Rowe, insccribed: Ex Libris [beehive image] Lose not an hour, Kenneth Rowe.

The greeting cards and other items in this album have been organized in roughly chronological order, dating from 1860 - ca. 1897 and have been organized in the following general categories: by firm, or by subject. Note: some designs are by famous Canadian artists.

The cards are laid down to album pages, only the recto of folios, and placed under Mylar covers sized to fit, sometimes presented with greeting page, side by side, often with introductory and other captions on pages, various sizes. Various Christmas card formats are represented.
