Collection search - Barenaked Ladies took over the Edge 102.1 morning show in Nathan Phillips Square and performed songs from their new album, Maroon. Nathan Phillips Square is where a previous mayoral administration had banned the group from playing because it felt that their name objectified women. During the course of the show, the band was presented with the keys to the City of Toronto and then were later surprised by an appearance made by Warner Music Canada president Garry Newman. Newman presented the band with a diamond award for their 1992 debut recording Gordon, at that time the disc had sold over 1 million copies in Canada. He also presented them with a platinum award for their album, Maroon
