Album of 76 folios into which are pasted watercolours of Canadian flora and fauna, as well as a view of Montreal from the mountain, 4 pages of maple leaves, as well as watercolours of European scenery and costumes, a print of a sentry on duty in the Quebec citadel at 20 below zero, and a drawing of an English scene. 18 watercolours are of Canadian wildflowers, 6 are of maple and oak leaves, 5 are of Spanish costumes, 1 is of an English coastal scene, and 1 of a European mountain scene. All but two of the works are presumed to be by Millicent Mary Chaplin (1790-1858); 1 watercolour is signed "C.P. 1842". The print is signed by W.N., presumed to be William H. E. Napier; while the drawing is by Helen Bayfield, 1852.
