Item consists of a wooden chest that was specially constructed to store documents relating to Sir John Coape Sherbrooke's military and political activities in Canada during the early part of the 19th century. The blue-gray painted chest is also inscribed with Sir John's name and rank, as well as information about the type of documents stored within it.
