The Oral History Project consists of 39 separate interview sessions, 107 audio cassettes, and approximately 100 hours of recordings. While the recordings cover Paul Martin's early life (1938-1970), and every phase in between and up to 2007, the recordings focus more on the time period of 1993 to 2006, from when Paul Martin first became Minister of Finance until the end of his time as Prime Minister of Canada.

In addition to Paul Martin and Sean Conway, who undertook the Project, the list of participants include the following individuals: Paul Adams, Elly Alboim, Yaprak Baltacioglu, Ian Bennett, Scott Clark, Dennis Dawson, Peter DeVries, David Dodge, Don Drummond, John English, Francis Fox, Jonathan Fried, John Godfrey, Ralph Goodale, Brian Guest, David Herle, Simon Kennedy, Jean Lapierre, Johanna Leffler, Sheila Martin, Anne McLellan, Andy Mitchell, Tim Murphy, Peter Nicholson, Terrie O'Leary, Heather Peterson, Jim Peterson, Susan Peterson, Jim Pimblett, Scott Reid, Lucienne Robillard, Allan Rock, Andrew Scott, Charles Seeto, Gordon Thiesen, Ruth Thorkelson and Doug Young.
