Series consists of Canadian Army Pt II Orders. Pt II Orders record the daily movement of personnel into and out of units of the Canadian Army, and were created and maintained at the unit-level. The series incorporates Pt II Orders of units of both the wartime Canadian Active Service Force (CASF) and the postwar Canadian Army Occupation Force (CAOF). The Pt II Orders are the authoritative source for the movement of soldiers during wartime. Information found on the personnel files about the movement of individual soldiers was compiled from these unit Part II entries.

General note:

"X-lists" associated with various units were maintained at the Canadian Section, GHQ 2nd Echelon, and consist of lists of personnel technically on strength of a unit of the Canadian Army but, for various reasons, away from the unit. These lists of personnel include: those officially known to be Prisoners of War; those missing, status unknown; those under various types of detention; those evacuated for medical reasons; those away on a posting or a course for 21 days or more; a member of the Red Cross or an Auxiliary Service; those at a depot awaiting discharge.
