Title based on the following caption from the NFB Photo Story: One of the features of Canada's participation in the International Geophysical Year is the most detailed and elaborate study ever undertaken of the Aurora Borealis-commonly known as the "Northern Lights". Above, receiving antennae for an auroral radar station. By bouncing radio waves off the aurora, it is possible to make a continuous day and night study of the Borealis. Such equipment is indispensable in the north's long winter-sunlit days.
