This series reflect the work of Allmand as MP. The files highlight his work both as an MP and as a Cabinet Minister, and reflect government policy and the delivery of programs to Canadian citizens. They deal with critical issues, including Quebec nationalism, bilingualism, gun control, and the patriation of the constitution. Most of the correspondence in this series comes from a time when Allmand held important cabinet positions addressing signal issues in Canadian life - Solicitor-General, Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs and Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs.
