This series consists of fire insurance plans, published by the Underwriter's Survey Bureau, of North Bay, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Hamilton, Owen Sound, Exeter, Hespeler, Kingsville, Stratford, Dutton, Gananoque, North Bay, Midland, Arnprior, Port Arthur, Niagara-on-the Lake, Windsor, Sudbury and Thunder Bay in Ontario; Harbour Grace, Corner Brook, Carbonear and St. John's in Newfoundland; Port William and Glace Bay in Nova Scotia; Cadilac, Saint-Hyacinthe, Chicoutimi, Montreal, Boucherville and Crabtree Mills in Quebec; Marysville, Centerville, East Florenceville, Hartland, Shediac and Woodstock in New Brunswick. In addition, there are revision slips for Trenton, Ottawa, Toronto and Pembrooke, Ontario; Rivière-du-Loup, Montreal and Joliette, Quebec; and Shelburne and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Underwriters' Survey Limited : In 1917, the Charles E. Goad Company slowly withdrew from work in Canada. In 1931, Underwriter's Survey Limited bought out the company and the London branch became the Head Office. The Underwriter's Survey Limited continued to publish Fire Insurance Plans in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario until 1960, when it merged with the Western Canadian Underwriters' Association and the British Columbia Underwriters' Association to form the Canadian Underwriters' Association.

The slides are copies of Fire Insurance Plans owned by the National Capital Commission and were made by the Public Archives of Canada. The source of acquisition of the printed fire insurance plans is unclear.
