Series consists of correspondence, journals, lists, agendas, news releases and many other textual documents that involve classroom teaching of the Ukrainian language and heritage within Canada with the help of the U.C.C. Ukrainian School Council.
The Ukrainian communities in Canada were at the forefront of the multicultural movement through various means such as establishing a Ukrainian Teachers' Association of Canada, holding Ukrainian academic studies conferences; creating University faculties across Canada, including the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, and other Ukrainian language and culture summer courses and other educational programs targeted at youth.
Support also went to the Ukrainian Free University in Munich, Germany; the Harvard Ukrainian Studies in Boston, Massachusetts and the Shevchenko Scientific Society in Sarcelles, France, working with other countries' diaspora communities to boost Ukrainian academic thought.
U.C.C. also promoted Ukrainian literature to their audience by selling or donating books to individuals, schools, libraries and organizations.
