The series includes documents produced or received by Albert Chartier over the course of his activities as a cartoonist and illustrator between 1937 and 2001. It includes correspondence on various topics: the Alisha the Mighty Atom and Traylor Family comic strips; the illustration of a biography of Senator T.D. Bouchard; the search for joke creators; participation in various exhibitions; tributes to the artist; and the use of images of Onesime and Séraphin.

Public figures who corresponded with the artist and are represented in this series include Richard Langlois, Robert LaPalme, Albéric Bourgeois, Jean-Pierre Girerd, Michel Breton, François Walthéry, Claude Raynaud, Gratien Gélinas, Jean Duceppe, Frédéric Back, Jean-Pierre Coallier, Victor-Lévy Beaulieu, Alain Stanké, Pierre Péladeau and Guy Fournier.

The series also includes a few theme-based files: ideas for a children's toy; biographical information about the artist; and proofs for the layout of the 100 Giants comic strip.

Among other things, the photographs depict a ceremony at which Albert Chartier was awarded an honorary doctorate; a meeting with François Walthéry; a gathering of cartoonists in Montréal North in the 1950s; the artist at work at Expo 67; an unidentified lunch; and the artist giving a television interview on a beach. It also includes four photographs of Chartier as a child, modified by the artist to illustrate a wooden horse design.
