Scope and content:

Sub-series consists of analogue and digital correspondence received, sent, or managed by the Office of the Prime Minister - Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) unit. Records include letters, memos, and emails. The incoming correspondence is typically addressed to the Prime Minister but copied to the DCOS as part of a distribution list or for information. Records are organized by subject, individual, or organization. If the correspondence was prepared by the DCOS unit, the record is filed under the name of the responsible DCOS staff person.

Arrangement note:

The digital records in this sub-series were originally contained within several high-level folders hosted on PMO shared computer network drives. Arrangement was by subject (e.g., "mandate letters", "letters from Clerk meetings") or, more commonly, by interim folder then subject (e.g., "Other/Office of the Ethics Commissioner" or "interns/letters"). During archival processing, the subject-level folders were described as individual files to improve discoverability.
