The collection includes original prints of views in and around various Canadian cities and towns; departure of the 109th Regiment, C.E.F., from Lindsay, Ont., 1916; harvest activity near Lumsden, Sask., 1919; freighters and passenger ships on the Great Lakes and at Vancouver, B.C., 1919 and 1922; derailments of Grand Trunk Railway trains at Lindsay, Cambray, Ops, and Reaboro, Ont., 1918-1919; threshing operations near Swift Current, Sask., ca. 1906; and Hog's Back Falls, Ottawa, Ont., 1920. Photos by C.H. Heels.

The collection also includes copy negs. (originals returned to donor) of the following: locomotives, trains, and equipment of the Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railway, Grand Trunk Railway, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, South Eastern Railway, Newfoundland Railway, Grand Falls Central Railway, Pacific Great Eastern, Northern Alberta Railway, British Columbia Electric Railway, Canadian Northern Railway, Algoma Eastern Railway, Abitibi Railway and Navigation Co., Toronto and Nipissing Railway; Irondale, Bancroft, and Ottawa Railway, Midland Railway, Victoria Railway, Canadian Northern Ontario Railway, Midland Railway, and Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway. Additionally, the copy negs. show views of train wrecks at Lindsay and Madoc Junction, Ont.; a head-on collision at Utterson, Ont., 4 October 1909; activities of the National Transcontinental Railway in and around Hearst, Ont., 1911 including a railway construction crew, a train derailment, and a train on a partially collapsed bridge; views of the Glen Shops, Montreal, Que. and Union Station, Toronto, Ont., 1900; a velocipede, 3 miles north of Lindsay, Ont., 1914; a railway bridge over Scugog River at Lindsay, Ont.; and other train derailments.
