File consists of an interview with Antonio Oposa titled "The rights of future generations" (also titled "Seeking justice on behalf of the environment"). The interview was conducted by Silver Donald Cameron as part of The Green Interview. File includes video of the interview, printed transcript, sound recording, and closed captioning file.

From the interview: "[I]f you are an environmentalist people look at you as if you're different, you're a hippie, you're something marginal. But if you really frame the word environment to redefine it as life and the life sources-I don't even want to call it life elements because that's more difficult to understand, but the sources of life, the fountains that make life possible: land, air and water. How simple can that be? Without land we cannot eat, without water we cannot live for three days, without air we cannot live for three minutes. Then, if you reframe that, then everything else becomes easy because who wants to dirty the air?"

From The Green Interview website: Antonio Oposa, Jr., the lawyer who established "the Oposa doctrine," the right of future generations to inherit a healthy environment. He also forced a massive cleanup of Manila Bay, stopped logging in old-growth forests and reef-fishing with cyanide and dynamite, and now seeks to reserve 50% of Philippine highways for sustainable transport.

Antonio Oposa Jr. is one of Asia's pioneering activist lawyers in the arena of environmental law. Hailing from the Philippines, Oposa is best known for the David-and-Goliath battles he's waged against its government. With flawless legal maneuvering, he has effectively managed to protect forest and marine areas in his native country and is probably best known for establishing the principle of inter-generational responsibility-the idea that the present generation has a responsibility to protect the environment for future generations.
