Samayaulie, Padloo : Padloo Samayualie is a multi-disciplinary artist who comes from a family of well-known artists. Her maternal grandparents are the renowned sculptors Qababuwa and Taraya Tunnillie; her paternal grandmother is Keeleemeeoomie Samayualie; and Elijakota Samayualie was her aunt. Best-known for her drawings, Padloo also works in sculpture, jewellery-making, and animation. She studied drawing while attending a Banff drawing workshop in 2001. In 2007 she was part of an animation workshop in Cape Dorset and she has studied jewelry making at Arctic College. In 2012, her print Amiarutit (Brushes, was selected for the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection. In 2017, Samayaulie had her first solo exhibition, North and South, at Feheley Fine Arts in Toronto, Ontario. Her work is held in public collections such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Richard F. Brush Museum, Canton, New York.
