This series consists of case files of German, Lithuanian and Ukrainian soldiers and others that other governments and agencies suspected of being war criminals.

The material in these case files includes, but is not limited to: copies of documents from the Yad Vashem Archives in Israel; copies of investigation files from the Public Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice in Germany; published articles and newspaper clippings; copies of documents from the Berlin Document Center (created in Berlin, Germany, after the Second World War as a facility to centralize the collection of Nazi documents in preparation for the Nuremberg Trials against war criminals); excerpts from books; and copies of the newsletter "Bulletin of Information" published by the Dokumentationszentrum des Bundes Judischer Verfolgter des Naziregimes (Documentation Center of the Association of Judicial Persecutees of the Nazi Regime). Also included are limited notes by Sol Littman based on these sources. It should be noted that many of these files contain only basic information on the individual, such as name, place and date of birth and military rank. The archival material is in English, German and Russian, with some translations.

Some files have been classified according to three categories of war crimes used during the Nuremberg trials:

¿ B: war crimes
¿ C: crimes against humanity

In addition to the case files is a card index compiled from various sources by Sol Littman of 63 German, Lithuanian and Ukrainian soldiers and others suspected of being war criminals. This card index includes: basic identifying information: name, date and place of birth, emigration data, military role, and a published source for the information. The case files described above, however, are a more useful source of information.
