Fonds consists of the records of Hannah C. Wright (Mrs. Joseph Currier): correspondence and subject files, 1851-1902,; account books and notebooks, 1863-1901; receipts, 1863-1910; London and Canadian Loan Agency Limited, 1871-1885. The fonds also includes the records of Edward Van Cortland Wright: general correspondence and legal material, 1869-1908; mining properties, 1877-1912; heritage securities and mortgage Investment Association Limited court case files, 1976-1881; financial material, 1870-1902. Also included are the records of Frances Adelia Wright: subject files, general, 1884-1949; rental properties, 1895-1948; additional material, 1900-1950; and oversize material, 1901, 1915, 1939.

Fonds consists of maps of Ontario and Quebec, including maps of Ottawa and Pontiac counties and the Gatineau River. Also included are maps of northern Ontario andQuebec focusing on mining in the Rainy River, Sudbury, Temiskaming and Algoma areas. There are also other maps of Canada and the United States as well as one architectural drawing pertaining to the elevation of an unidentified mine frame.

Wright Ruggles Sr. (family) : Ruggles Wright Sr., the son of Philemon Wright and Abigal Wyman, was one of seven children. Ruggles Wright Sr. married Hannah Chamberlain and Rosina McDowell. From these marriages eight children were born including Hannah C. (1833-1901) who married Joseph Merrill Currier in 1868 and Edward Van Cortland (1835-1915) who married Francis A. Marston.

The Curriers built and lived in number 24 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, which they called "Garphwysfa." Joseph Currier, who was a lumberman of considerable wealth and a Member of Parliament, died of Tuberculosis in 1884. As the heiress to a great deal of the Wright property in Hull and Templeton Townships, Hannah maintained a handsome livelihood throught her efficient management of the rents and resources of her properties.

Edward Van Cortland Wright inherited timber properities in Pontiac and Outaouais Counties. After a discovery of valuable minerals on his lands in the 1870's, Edward became interested in mining and his subsequent ventures into the business often resulted in lawsuits and various otheir legal problems over land titles and mineral rights. Frances Adelia Wright (1865-1949), the daughter of Edward Van Cortland Wright, was one of thirteen children. She remained unmarried and lived with her sister Etta Muriel. She was principal executor of the estate of their aunt, Hannah Currier. Frances showed a keen interest in the history of her family as is evidenced by the many notes and historical memos in her papers.
