Fonds consists of letterbook extracts, manuscript letters, copies of correspondence, legal documents, reports, typescripts, printed materials, publications, and related records of the Committee of the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society and the Aborigines Protection Society. Including: Six Nations' Speaker "Deskaheh" (Levi General) on land claims, c.1921-1924; bequest of Lennox Island, P.E.I. from the Estate of Lady Augusta Wood (daughter of Gen. Edmund Fanning) to the Mi'kmaq, n.d., 1884-1912; and records related to the coloured population of Upper Canada, 1841-1878; Indigenous rights in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, [1838]-1933.

Includes correspondence and documents pertaining to the transfer of Lennox Island Mi'kmaq Reserve to the Department of Indian Affairs from the Trustees of The Anti-Slavery and Aborigines Protection Society, 1911-1912. (MSS. Brit. Emp. S.20 (E 2/19-20); S.22 (G.83, 299-308.)
