28 photographs : b&w.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Fonds consists of clippings and notes, 1937-1971, chiefly related to Mrs. S.L. Gertsman's activities in various local and national Jewish and other women's organizations. Also included are clippings on Mr. Archibald H. Coplan, Mr. S.L. Gertsman and other members of the family, a certificate of patronage to Harold P. Coplan and a testimonial to Mrs. Archibald H. Coplan. There are also seven technical papers written by Sol Gertsman as well as newspaper clippings relating to his career as a metallurgist with the federal public service.
Fonds also includes photographs depicting activities in Ottawa, including: the cast of a play by Ottawa Ladies College, [ca. 1935]; B'nai B'rith Society activities for war veterans, 1944-1949; Engineers' Wives Association activities; views of A.H. Caplan's home; and portraits of E.F. Pullen and Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Pullen.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Gertsman (family) : Mrs. S.L. Gertsman, daughter of Archibald H. Coplan of Ottawa, was active in many organizations, especially B'nai Brith, Hadassah-WIZO, Ottawa Engineer's Wives Association and the Ottawa Council of Women.
