14 watercolours watercolour and coloured inks over pencil.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Fonds consists of notes on Indians kept by Francis Hall and some military notes given to Hall by a friend (J.G.B.) when he was appointed Military Secretary to Major-General Wilson in 1815.
Fonds also contains a sketchbook of watercolours of Canada and the United States completed by Francis Hall during travels in 1816 and 1817.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Hall, Francis, fl. 1810-1829 : Lieutenant Francis Hall of the 14th Light Dragoons, H.P., was appointed Military Secretary to Major-General Wilson on 25 October 1815. He was subsequently a hydrographer in the Service of Columbia. Hall was also a talented author and Military painter. S.
