The fonds consists of textual records, sound recordings and photographs of Couchiching conferences (summer conferences); winter conferences; and other conferences and seminars. The textual records include administrative papers; financial documents; and clippings. There are also numerous individual and group photographs, 1944-1977, and sound recordings which consist of proceedings of conferences at the Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs about pay television (August 1976), the Parti Quebecois and Canada (March 1977), and CBC dubs of Couchiching conferences, 1968-1969.

Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs : The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs is a non-profit organization founded in 1932 under the name Canadian Institute on Economics and Politics, by a group of concerned citizens to provide a forum for the examination of ideas and issues of public concern. It changed its name to the Canadian Institute on Public Affairs in 1940 and then to its present name about 1979. A week long summer conference, the Couchiching Conference, is held annually at Geneva Park on Lake Couchiching, north of Toronto. Each winter a weekend conference is held in Toronto, and special seminars are mounted on topics of current interest.
