Fonds consists of papers related to the Canadian Ladies' Golf Association and include minutes, administration and finances, correspondence, memoranda and championship results, nominations, reports, teams, and scrapbooks.

Included in the fonds are photographs of the first annual banquet of the Canadian Women's Senior Golf Association, Montreal; members of Canadian Ladies' Golf Union, Winnipeg, Manitoba; and a portrait of Ella W. Murray, 1923-1954.

The fonds also contains a film entitled, Royal Colwood golf tournament, which shows the Canadian Ladies Golf Team at the Royal Colwood course during the Canadian Ladies Golf Union Tournament, 1954.

Canadian Ladies' Golf Association : In 1901 the first Canadian Ladies Championship was conducted at the Royal Montreal, by the gentlemen of the Royal Canadian Golf Association. The Championship continued to be held in the east with venue provided by the Royal Ottawa, and the Lambton and Rosedale Golf Clubs, till 1913 when the Royal Montreal was host again. It was at this tournament in 1913 that the Canadian Ladies Golf Union (C.L.F.U.) was formed.

Competition was suspended during the First World War. In 1919 the C.L.G.U was reorganized at a meeting in Toronto. The first annual meeting was held in 1920 and a constitution and by-laws were adopted in 1921. By 1924 the C.L.G.U. had assumed responsibility for conducting the Ladies Open Championship, replacing the Royal Canadian Golf Association.

The growth of the Union throughout the ensuing decades was steady and by 1962 with the application of Newfoundland for admission as a separate branch, the union was truly national in scope. In 1967 the name of the organization was changed to the Canadian Ladies' Golf Association.
