Fonds consists of correspondence, 1848-1945; memoranda, 1789-1945; and publications, 1798-1936. The fonds contains Masonic imagery including: chromolithographed Masonic Tracing Boards for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree, produced after the 1823 design by John Harris, [ca. 1889]; a centenary poster of Mount Zion Lodge, Kemptville, 1945; proclamation charter of the Kemptville Lodge of the Free Masons of Canada, 1857; and a 53.5 x 35.7 cm (image) mezzotint print of Edward VII, 1908.

The fonds also contains a composite photograph of Masonic members attending the 14th Annual Convention of the Grand Lodge of Canada, A.F. and A.M., Montreal, Que., 14 July, 1869; photographic portraits of Herb W. Curry, [ca. 1900], Dr. Givens Hanna, [ca. 1900], and an unidentified soldier.

Mount Zion Masonic Lodge No. 28 : The Mount Zion Masonic Lodge No. 28 began in 1815 under the name Rideau Lodge No. 25. The Lodge was sponsored by Provincial Grand Master Ziba M. Phillips who founded a large number of lodges all over Upper Canada. The first Master was Stephen Burritt and the first meeting was held in his house. Men from as far away as Ottawa and Richmond belonged to this lodge. For instance Bradish Billings, one of Ottawa's earliest settlers was one of the members.

The Lodge flourished until 1826 when it ceased to function. It was revived in 1840. A new warrent was received in 1844 and the Lodge became Rideau Lodge No. 2. Rideau Lodge merged with the new Kemptville Lodge in 1845. In 1858 Kemptville Lodge changed its name to Mount Zion Lodge No. 25.
