Karl Beveridge (Interviewer)Description:Oral history interview by Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge of Ivy Imerson, a worker in the cutting and sewing room at General Motors of Canada, Oshawa, Ontario, and founding member of Local 222, United Automobile Workers and Bill Imerson, also an employee of G.M. The Imersons discuss the effect of the depression of the 1930s on their family. Ivy Imerson focuses on the working conditions for women at G.M., the strike at G.M. in 1937 and the early years of organizing employees in the 1920s.
