The program features film of the opening day messages to CBUT viewers by the CBC's regional representative in British Columbia, Kenneth Caple, by the CBUT director of TV, Peter McDonald, and by CBC chairman Davidson Dunton. There is an in-studio interview with former CBUT newreader Gordon [Ingalls], film cameraman Bob [Reid] and broadcaster Bill Herbert, who talk about the early days of CBUT. The other film clips featured are a partial newscast read by Gordon [Ingalls], from 1955, and a message of congratulations from the Japanese television network NHK, in Japanese with subsequent English translation.
