Audio recording of interviews with collar-makers [Bernard] and Bill Estabrooks by John Flanders at The Sackville Harness Company in Sackville, New Brunswick. These interview form part of a verbal record documenting the oral histories of nearly eighty artists whose art work was included in the Massey Foundation's national collection of contemporary Canadian crafts. Subjects discussed include: their background and early childhood; how they became interested in collar making; techniques involved in collar making; their views on the subject of craftsmanship; and their feelings on being included in the Massey Foundation craft collection. <45mn>

1. Recording of interviews continues on Side 2.~2. Tape label incorrectly cites record as "Sound reviews - Music". Date given as 12 July 1979 most likely corresponds to said "Sound reviews". Actual date of interview with [Bernard] and Bill Estabrooks occurred in the summer of 1979 or 1980.~3. Interview with [Bernard] Estabrooks stops abruptly approximately 15 minutes into recording. Continues after approximately 30 seconds with second interviewee, Bill Estabrooks.~4. Several interviews from this series were published in The Craftsman's Way: Canadian Expressions, Toronto: University of Toronto Press, c1981. Interviews with Bill and [Bernard] Estabrooks not included in the publication.
