This film, entitled ICE, begins with a title card illustrated with a block of ice with a polar bear on top, hand drawn. The 1927 Ontario Motion Picture Bureau catalogue describes it as follows: "Soft drinks in July without ice would be as hopeless as hopless beer. It takes well over a million tons of ice, both natural and artificial, to keep Ontario cool in the summer." The film depicts the use of fresh water block ice to keep Ontario cool. It shows: a busy downtown city on a hot summer day; people drinking bottles pop to keep cool; an ice truck delivering block ice to a residential home; a refrigerator with the block ice in the freezer section; a frozen lake in winter with men harvesting the ice; motor driven ice cutter with two huge circular saw blades, cutting large section of the lake ice; men cutting the ice by hand with a large hand saw; large cut sections then floated away by men who hold long poles while standing on the floes. The large floes of cut ice will be floated to the factory for cutting into blocks. This is the end of Part 1.
